OPEN HOUSE !

COLLEGE 101 (LOL)

Tonight I went to my Daughters open house to meet the Teacher and be in her shoes for an hour, “wow third grade is not how it use to be “lets call it mini college. I was amazed with how much the children are expected to do in one year. Gabby wrote me a letter that was on her desk.

Dear Mommy
I would like to thank you very much for coming to my class’s open house. It shows me how much you care about my education and me. So far third grade has been great. My favorite subject is math because it is fun to work with numbers. Please take a few minuets to look around my classroom. Especially take a look at the stars that are on the wall: notice how clean and organized that Iam keeping my desk. I hope you enjoy tonight at my open house, see you soon. Oh mommy thanks you for caring so much about me.

The Teacher began to explain her rules and how she operates her classroom. She is very big on discipline and does not tolerate children who do not follow her rules, which in a way is good because that keeps the kids on track. There is 30 minuets a night of homework given and it is expected by the due date. Children who do not comply will flip a card.
Ok the card rule:
Green: is good
Red: is bad sent to office
Yellow:is a warning
Blue: letter sent home


btw; third grades are going to receive grades this year. This is something new A, B, C, D, and F

Over all the class seems very well structured like I said college 101 I feel that Gabby will due great in this class and will be pushed to succeed. My third grader is growing up.
