This month's theme is great! I'm a little bit of a hat nut, and love seeing the face of a baby or child framed by one. Because of this, though, I had a really hard time choosing my photos to share with you all. I love so many of them!
I had planned on trying to use a new hat I purchased and really love, but I needed a newborn baby girl model for it and my last two newborns have been boys! I figure I won't get a little girl before the theme ends, so I went ahead and chose some others.
This first one is of my friend's daughter, Macy, who's two. She searched specifically for this hat for our shoot. I got plenty of smiles from her, but I always tend to choose ones with great eye contact and sometimes a little more serious.

Black & White (Michelle)
I love b/w photography for architecture and certain landscapes, so I knew I was going to pull one from my archives for this theme. I am typically very critical of the photos I take and am rarely ever truly happy with them, but I ended up being pleased with most of the photos I took on a trip to Paris last year. (OK, so it might have been the subject and not my photography! LOL) This particular photo was my first attempt at Manual Mode. I had no clue what I was doing, but knew I wanted a slower shutter speed to get the picture I desired so I thought I would give Manual a try. By slowing the shutter speed, I was able to capture the entire tower in lights (vs. the actual random twinkling lights). So, as I was fighting for prime space to get this shot and dealing with a worthless mini-tripod, I ended up very happy with the end result. I especially liked the reflection in the pool of water below and wish I could have captured more of it, but was blocked by a cement slab underneath my camera. Click here or here if you are interested in seeing more Eiffel Tower photos. I couldn't decide which to post. I took my large tripod with me and shot at different angles... bound and determined to get a goo

I hope you all don't mind another picture of Nadia, I had originally intended this month to just be about my boys but didn't get the shots I had envisioned so will have to try again next month :) I took this photo around eight o'clock in the morning. It had been raining through the night and it was warm enough to get some fun puddle jumping shots. She is wearing one of my hats and I liked how it was tilted to the side with her hair framing her face. I captured the shot just as it started to rain again.
This image is lightly touched up in Lightroom 2, playing with the curves. I also applied Burn out from the eye candy actions to darken up the edges . Finally, I had to adjust my red hues because of the reflection of the umbrella on her face. When I did this I think I lost some of the pink in her lips but I felt it was worth the compromise. I would love to know if there is a different way to accomplish this so feedback is appreciated. Also, If you would like to see some more photos we took that morning please feel free to visit my photoblogAnother Poping color one I'm begining to love this ,
Did I say that ?may be u will not be able to read that through the line lol .

About the photographer:
My name is Hana and I've had a passion for photography since my first was born 6 years ago, however, I just bought my first dSLR less than one month ago! I love photographing children and capturing those priceless moments that you might not think to photograph. I love using natural light and very rarely use a flash in my "real" photos. There's just something beautiful about natural sunlight that cannot be reproduced with a synthetic flash. I'm still a newbie to photography and I am learning new things about my camera and photo composition every day. When I'm not taking pictures (which doesn't happen often), you can find me sewing boutique children's clothing and baby gear for my kids, local boutiques, and my online Etsy shops. I am a SAHM to my son (6) and two daughters (3yrs and 12mos). I am also the wife to my wonderful firefighter husband!
